Job summary

Supply Desk in Windsor, Berkshire, England, is delighted to partner with a supportive SEN school to appoint an MLD Teaching Assistant. You will work with the class teacher to support pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties, ensuring they can access learning and feel supported throughout the school day.

The role involves 1:1 and small group support, delivering tailored lessons, developing literacy, numeracy and communication skills, and promoting independence and confidence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children or young people with SEN, especially MLD.
• Knowledge of MLD and associated learning needs.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Ability to work full-time in the Windsor area.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with MLD.
• Support the delivery of tailored lessons and differentiated activities.
• Help pupils develop core skills in literacy, numeracy, and communication.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and social development.
• Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
• Adapt resources to meet individual learning needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
• Contribute to a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
