Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a mining operator in South Africa to hire a Mine Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance and repair of mining equipment at their Randburg facility. You will lead a team of technicians, manage spare parts, and implement preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

The role requires a trade qualification as Mechanical or Electrical Fitter/Mechanic, at least five years in a supervisory heavy equipment role, and strong hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical or Electrical Fitter/Mechanic, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within heavy equipment maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
• Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) is advantageous.
• Good leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team, including mechanics and electricians.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all mining equipment.
• Oversee the repair and servicing of heavy machinery, vehicles, and processing plant equipment.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of necessary components.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
