Mill Maintenance Technician – 12h Rotating Shifts

Job summary

James Cropper plc, a global leader in advanced materials and paper, is recruiting for an engineering maintenance professional. This shift role covers 12-hour rotations (6am-6pm and 6pm-6am) to support production, minimise losses and keep mill operations running safely and efficiently.

You will hold an HNC in engineering or equivalent, bring manufacturing experience, and apply fault diagnosis, repairs and equipment care across the mill.

Qualifications

• HNC in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Relevant professional experience in manufacturing.
• Broad knowledge of plant, equipment, systems mill-wide.
• Awareness of engineering and health and safety legislation and requirements.
• Fantastic communication skills to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships at various levels.
• Ability to interpretate and understand of processes, procedures, technical manuals and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provides fault diagnosis, solutions and repair in /on areas of machinery and plant such as machinery breakdown; run ability and safety related to maintenance work.ie provides any engineering resources for the continued operation of the mill
• Complete work as issued by the PPM system or team leader and prioritises unplanned work.
• Comprehensive recording of all necessary information
• Uses spare machine parts cost-effectively and ensures they are all booked in /out of stores.
• Is a member of the fire and lone worker emergency response teams as and when required and carries out the respective team duties.
• Implementing improvements to: Safety, housekeeping and workplace organisation; Environment; Productivity; Quality
• Accountable for the safe hand-over of any maintenance work carried out.
• Support of other business functions (IE Facilities) for business-critical activities
