Job summary

James Cropper, a global leader in advanced materials and paper products, seeks a Maintenance Engineer to provide planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance across the mill. The role operates on 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm, 6pm-6am) with a five-shift rotation, aligned to production needs.

You will diagnose faults, implement improvements, and ensure safe handover of work, while collaborating with Facilities and other functions. HNC in engineering and manufacturing experience are essential.

Qualifications

• HNC in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Relevant professional experience in manufacturing.
• Broad knowledge of plant, equipment and systems across the mill.
• Awareness of health and safety legislation and requirements.
• Excellent communication to manage stakeholder relationships at various levels.
• Ability to interpret processes, procedures, technical manuals and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide fault diagnosis, repairs and maintenance for mill machinery and plants.
• Prioritise unplanned work and complete tasks issued by the PPM system or supervisor.
• Record all necessary information comprehensively.
• Use spare parts cost-effectively and manage stores in/out.
• Contribute to safety, housekeeping, environment, productivity and quality improvements.
• Ensure safe hand-over of maintenance work and support facilities team as needed.
