Job summary

Thurston Group in Hull is seeking an experienced MIG Welder/Fabricator to join a busy manufacturing environment. You will weld, fabricate and assemble steel frames and components for modular building projects, reading engineering drawings and following specifications.

The role demands accuracy, safety, and the ability to work to production schedules in a workshop setting. Prior experience with structural steel and cranes or forklifts is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must have MIG Welder/Fabricator experience in a workshop environment.
• Experience with mild and structural steel and reading drawings.
• Ability to fabricate steel frames and assemblies to spec.
• Solid understanding of welding and fabrication techniques.
• Capable of working safely to production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MIG/MAG welding on mild and structural steel.
• Fabricate and assemble structural steel frames, chassis and components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
• Measure, cut, prepare and fit steel sections accurately.
• Operate fabrication equipment, including grinders and cutting machinery.
• Inspect welds and assemblies to ensure quality standards.
• Work to production schedules while following safety procedures.
