South West Recruitment Ltd is seeking a MIG welder with fabrication experience to join a specialist engineering manufacturer in the UK. The role involves welding machine casings and frames, reading drawings, and performing fabrications to tight quality standards.

You will gradually move into mechanical assembly and fitting of complete machines, with training provided. Responsibilities include reading engineering drawings, cutting and welding metal components, and assisting with machine builds.

Qualifications

• Previous MIG welding and metal fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Experience fabricating frames, casings, enclosures or similar metal components.
• Willingness to learn mechanical fitting and machinery assembly.

Responsabilités

• MIG welding and fabrication of machine casings, frames and associated components.
• Working from engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
• Preparing, cutting, assembling and welding metal components.
• Ensuring finished fabrications meet required quality and dimensional standards.
• Using workshop tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assisting with the mechanical assembly and fitting of specialist machinery.
• Learning how the company's machines operate and how they are installed.
• Supporting experienced engineers with machine builds and testing.
• Potentially progressing into customer-site installation work, which may involve travel within the UK and overseas.
