Job summary

South West Recruitment Ltd is recruiting an experienced MIG Welder / Fabricator to join an established engineering manufacturer in New Milton, Hampshire. You will weld and fabricate metal casings and frames for specialist machinery and learn mechanical fitting and assembly.

You will work from engineering drawings, maintain quality standards, and progress to installation work at customer sites across the UK and potentially overseas.

Qualifications

• Prior MIG welding and fabrication experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Experience fabricating frames, casings or similar components.
• Willingness to learn mechanical fitting.
• Flexible, reliable and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• MIG welding and fabrication of machine casings, frames and components.
• Reading from engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
• Preparing, cutting, assembling and welding metal components.
• Ensuring finished fabrications meet quality and dimensional standards.
• Using workshop tools safely and efficiently.
• Assisting with mechanical assembly and fitting of machinery.
• Learning how the machines operate and are installed.
• Supporting engineers with builds and testing.
• Potential travel for customer-site installation within the UK and overseas.
