Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking an experienced MIG Welder for a client based in Sandy, Bedfordshire. The role focuses on MIG welding and fabrication of steel components, using engineering drawings to ensure high-quality workmanship.

This temp-to-perm opportunity offers progression to a permanent position after a successful temporary period. Hours are Mon-Thu 7:30am-5:30pm and Fri 7:30am-12:00pm, totaling 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

MIG Welder - Temp to Perm

Location: Sandy, Bedfordshire

Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30am-5:30pm | Friday 7:30am-12:00pm

Hours per week: 40 hours

Pay: Competitive, depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG Welder to join an established steel fabrication business based in Sandy.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering the right candidate the chance to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.

The role will involve MIG welding and fabrication of steel components, working from engineering drawings and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• MIG welding steel components and fabrications.
• Working from engineering drawings and welding specifications.
• Fabricating, assembling and fitting steelwork.
• Measuring, cutting and preparing materials for welding.
• Ensuring welds meet required quality standards.
• Carrying out visual inspections of completed work.
• Using workshop equipment and hand/power tools safely.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
• Working as part of a busy fabrication team.
• Following all company health and safety procedures.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a MIG Welder within a steel fabrication environment.
• Good MIG welding skills and experience working with mild steel.
• Ability to read and work from engineering/fabrication drawings.
• Good understanding of welding and fabrication processes.
• Ability to measure and work accurately.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and hardworking attitude.
• Relevant welding/fabrication experience.
