Job summary

Tawakkul Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced MIG/TIG Welder Fabricator to join its workshop team. You will fabricate and weld mild and stainless steel to produce bespoke architectural metalwork such as staircases, balustrades and other structural components.

In this role you will interpret engineering drawings, set up fabrication machinery, grind and finish welded joints to a high standard, and maintain a safe, organised workshop. Occasional site work may be required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with MIG and TIG welding of mild and stainless steel.
• Ability to independently interpret fabrication drawings.
• Strong grinding, finishing and polishing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and high workmanship standards.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• MIG and TIG welding of mild steel and stainless steel.
• Fabricating bespoke metalwork from drawings.
• Manufacturing staircases, balustrades, balconies and other architectural steelwork.
• Cutting, measuring, marking out and assembling steel components.
• Grinding, dressing and polishing welds to achieve a high-quality finish.
• Working with varying material thicknesses and fabrication requirements.
• Ensuring work meets dimensional and quality standards.
• Maintaining a safe and organised workshop.
• Occasional site work when required.

Salary: Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience

Overtime: Paid at 1.5x after 40 hours

About the Role

An established architectural metalwork and steel fabrication company is seeking experienced MIG/TIG Welder Fabricators to join its workshop team.

The company specialises in manufacturing bespoke architectural and secondary structural steelwork, including staircases, balustrades, balconies, handrails, gates and structural steel components.

Key Responsibilities

• MIG and TIG welding of mild steel and stainless steel.
• Fabricating bespoke metalwork from engineering and manufacturing drawings.
• Manufacturing staircases, handrails, balustrades, balconies and other architectural steelwork.
• Cutting, measuring, marking out and assembling steel components.
• Grinding, dressing and polishing welds to achieve a high-quality seamless finish.
• Working with different material thicknesses and fabrication requirements.
• Ensuring completed work meets dimensional and quality standards.
• Maintaining a safe and organised workshop.
• Occasional site work when required.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator.
• Competent in both MIG and TIG welding.
• Experience working with mild steel and stainless steel.
• Ability to independently interpret fabrication drawings.
• Strong grinding, finishing and polishing skills.
• Experience using fabrication workshop machinery and hand tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality of workmanship.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience

• Architectural metalwork, including staircases, railings and balustrades.
• Aluminium welding and fabrication.
• Structural steel fabrication.
• CSCS card.
• Previous installation or site experience.
