Founder and Creative Director at Launch Studio

We are looking for a passionate, dedicated team player to join us as a Midweight Designer. This is a 12 month FTC and maternity cover. You’ll be working within a variety of design disciplines across every industry, as well as assisting the rest of the team with their projects — we work with everyone, global corporations to innovative start ups and in every discipline, web design to branding, social campaigns to editorial design and everything in between. You will bring new and exciting ideas, thrive in a creative environment and work closely within a small but perfectly-formed team.

Please note this is maternity cover so a fixed term contract up to 12 months.

• Hybrid working – remote working 2 days per week (Mondays and Fridays) with the other 3 days in our studio in St Albans, Hertfordshire (17 minute train from Kings Cross)
• Team lunch once a month
• Holiday allowance: 22 days pro-rata + Christmas eve (+ England bank holidays)

These goals and responsibilities encompass both the creative aspects of graphic design as well as the organisational and collaborative aspects necessary for success in a midweight position.

• Design development and execution: Continuously refine and enhance design skills to produce high-quality visual content, collaborate with clients or team members to understand project requirements and objectives and stay updated on design trends, tools, and techniques to improve design efficiency and effectiveness.
• Project management and coordination: Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and exceeding client expectations, enhancing the seamless day-to-day running of the studio.
• Mentorship and team development: Providing guidance and support to the junior members of the team whilst identifying opportunities within the studio and optimising processes to enhance project delivery.

Skills & experience

• In-depth and up-to-date knowledge and expertise based on 3+ years of experience
• An outstanding portfolio of published/live work that spans different channels: from print to digital, branding to websites, and everything in between
• Confident with Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch and Keynote
• Impeccable technical skills with both design, software and hardware
• Good spelling and grammar
• Knowledge of website building platforms (Wordpress, Squarespace, Shopify) and HTML & CSS –not required, but preferred
