Job summary

Biffa is seeking an Environmental & Gas Operative to monitor landfill sites, interpret data, and report in line with site permits. You will balance gas fields, maintain equipment, and manage the landfill gas compound to maximise power generation.

The role requires travel across the Midlands, occasional overnight stays, and a valid driving licence. Autonomy to manage your own diary with home working is offered, plus on-call payments and overtime when called out.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental monitoring.
• Ability to interpret data from field measurements.
• Willingness to travel and work outdoors.
• Valid driving licence and clean record.

Responsibilities

• Undertake environmental monitoring, data interpretation and reporting in accordance with site permit and instructions.
• Undertake gas field monitoring, balancing and maintenance.
• Manage landfill gas compound to maximise power generation.
• Work with Health and Safety policies and training.
• Collaborate with landfill operational colleagues and contractors.
