Whitby School is seeking a part-time Midday Supervisory Assistant to help supervise pupils during lunch, ensure a safe and positive environment, and support lunchtime activities. The role is ideal for gaining experience working with young people and may fit around other commitments.

The successful candidate will assist with maintaining order, monitor behaviour, and respond to incidents in line with school procedures. A friendly, resilient approach is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunch breaks in dining areas, corridors, social spaces and outdoor areas.
• Monitor student behaviour and promote positive conduct.
• Help maintain a safe and orderly lunchtime environment.
• Support students in accessing and participating in lunchtime activities.
• Respond to incidents and concerns, escalating to staff as needed.
• Provide basic first aid when required and record incidents per procedures.
• Help resolve minor disagreements and promote respectful relationships.
• Report safeguarding, welfare or behavioural concerns to appropriate staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunch breaks in dining areas, corridors, social spaces and outdoor areas.
• Monitor student behaviour and encourage positive conduct in line with the school's behaviour expectations.
• Assist with maintaining a safe and orderly environment throughout the lunchtime period.
• Support students in accessing and participating in lunchtime activities.
• Respond appropriately to incidents and concerns, escalating matters to relevant staff where necessary.
• Provide basic first aid when required and ensure incidents are recorded and reported in accordance with school procedures.
• Help to resolve minor disagreements between students and promote respectful relationships.
• Report any safeguarding, welfare or behavioural concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
