Job summary

Whitby School is seeking friendly, resilient and enthusiastic people to join our team as Midday Supervisory Assistants. This part-time role helps ensure pupils have a safe, enjoyable lunchtime in the dining hall and on the wider school grounds, from 12:30 to 1:30pm, Monday to Friday, during term time.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise students during lunch breaks in dining areas, corridors, social spaces and outdoor areas.
  • Monitor student behaviour and encourage positive conduct in line with the school's behaviour expectations.
  • Assist with maintaining a safe and orderly environment throughout the lunchtime period.
  • Support students in accessing and participating in lunchtime activities.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and concerns, escalating matters to relevant staff where necessary.
  • Provide basic first aid when required and ensure incidents are recorded and reported in accordance with school procedures.
  • Help to resolve minor disagreements between students and promote respectful relationships.
  • Report any safeguarding, welfare or behavioural concerns to the appropriate member of staff.

Salary/ Hourly Rate: Grade AB, £13.28 per hour

This part-time position plays a vital role in ensuring that pupils have a safe, enjoyable and positive lunchtime experience, both in the dining hall and the wider school grounds.

Key Responsibilities
