Job summary

Callerton Academy in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking 4 Midday Supervisors to join the team. You will help create a safe, positive and enjoyable lunchtime environment, supervising activities across the school site and supporting pupil wellbeing during the break.

You will work with colleagues to promote positive behaviour and uphold safeguarding standards. You will liaise with kitchen staff regarding dietary requirements and ensure pupils move safely around the school during lunch.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
• Calm, confident and professional management of pupils.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Resilience and responsiveness to situations during lunchtime.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils in dining and outdoor areas during lunch.
• Support pupils with specific needs and maintain safety.
• Maintain records of incidents where required and liaise with kitchen staff on dietary needs.
• Help pupils move safely around the school during the lunch period.

Job description

We are seeking 4 Midday Supervisors to join the team at Callerton Academy. In this important role, you will help create a safe, positive and enjoyable environment for pupils during lunchtime, ensuring their wellbeing, supervising activities across the school site and supporting a calm and orderly midday break. You will work closely with colleagues to promote positive behaviour, uphold safeguarding standards and ensure pupils are supported throughout the lunchtime period.

Key responsibilities will include supervising pupils in dining and outdoor areas, supporting pupils with specific needs, maintaining accurate records of incidents where required, liaising with kitchen staff regarding dietary requirements, and ensuring pupils move safely around the school during the lunch period.
