Job summary

Kensworth CE Academy is seeking a dedicated Midday Supervisor to join our friendly lunch team. You will help pupils aged 4 to 11 develop healthy eating habits, practice good manners, and engage in safe, active play.

You will supervise dining hall activities, lead playground games, and support staff to ensure smooth transitions between sessions. Training in safeguarding and first aid is provided, and term-time hours suit family commitments.

Qualifications

• Proactive attitude toward safety and well-being.
• Flexible with a good sense of humour.
• Previous experience with children is desirable, but willingness to learn is valued.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children in the dining hall, assist with packaging, cutlery, and cleanliness.
• Lead and supervise playground games ensuring inclusion and safety.
• Manage pupil behaviour in line with the school's policy.
• Attend to accidents and provide basic first aid (training provided).
• Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure smooth transitions between morning lessons and afternoon registration.

Your Core Responsibilities:

• Supervise children in the dining hall, assisting them with opening packaging, using cutlery, and maintaining a clean environment.
• Lead and encourage playground games, ensuring all children are included, active, and safe.
• Manage pupil behaviour positively in line with the school's behaviour policy.
• Attend to accidents and administer basic first aid (training will be provided).
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other supervisors to ensure a smooth transition between morning lessons and afternoon registration.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• A proactive attitude toward children's safety and well-being.
• Flexibility and a good sense of humour.
• Previous experience working with children is desirable, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are most important.
