Job summary

Parkwood Academy, part of the South Essex Academy Trust, is seeking a caring Midday Assistant to supervise pupils at lunchtime, keeping a safe, calm environment both indoors and outdoors. The role runs 12:00–13:30, Monday to Friday, term-time only, on a fixed-term contract to 11 April 2027.

DBS clearance and safeguarding commitment are required, with access to a Leadership Academy and staff wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or in school settings preferred.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
• Reliable, patient and supportive attitude towards pupils.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lunchtime activities and support pupils during break times.
• Maintain a safe, calm environment indoors and outdoors.
• Model positive behaviour and assist with transitions between activities.

Job Title: MiddayAssistant

Contract: FixedTerm until 11th April 2027 (covering staff absence)

Hours per week: 7 hours30 minutes per week

Scale: Scale2, Point 4-5 (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Actual Salary: £4,399.65 - £4,469.16
