Job summary

St Raphael’s Catholic Primary School in Stalybridge invites applications for a permanent Midday Assistant to join our friendly team from October 2026 or sooner. The role is 5 hours per week, term time only, Monday to Friday, 12:00–1:00pm, to supervise lunch and create play opportunities for our happy children.

• Experience of working with children.

Salary: Grade B. Scale 4 - £3,044 (part time, term time)

Hours: 5 hours per week

Base Location: Huddersfield Road, Millbrook, Stalybridge, SK15 3JL

The Governors of St Raphael’s are seeking to appoint a permanent Midday Assistant from October 2026 or sooner to work for 5 hours per week (term time only Monday to Friday - 12.00-1.00pm)

The successful candidate will join our hard-working team in supervising and creating play opportunities for our happy, friendly children. We welcome applications from organised, enthusiastic and adaptable team-players who enjoy working with children. Previous experience of working with children would be an advantage but is not necessary.

• Has experience of working with children
• Is able to relate well to children and adults
• Is able to help children to enjoy their lunchtime through supporting activities and games
• Is able to work constructively as part of a team
• Is committed to supporting the Catholic ethos of our school
• Has awareness of safety within the school environment
