Job summary

St Raphael’s Catholic Primary School invites applications for a permanent Midday Assistant. The role is 5 hours per week during term time, 12.00–1.00pm, Monday to Friday, starting October 2026 or sooner.

The successful candidate will supervise lunchtime play, support activities, and help children enjoy their lunchtime in a safe, friendly environment. Experience with children is welcome but not required; a willingness to work as part of a team and uphold the Catholic ethos is essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lunchtime from 12:00 to 1:00pm
• Support play opportunities and activities during lunch
• Promote safety and orderly conduct in the lunch area
• Work as part of a team to ensure a smooth lunchtime routine
• Contribute to maintaining the Catholic ethos of St Raphael’s

Salary: Grade B. Scale 4 - £3,044 (part time, term time)

The Governors of St Raphael’s are seeking to appoint a permanent Midday Assistant from October 2026 or sooner to work for 5 hours per week (term time only – Monday to Friday - 12.00-1.00pm)

The successful candidate will join our hard-working team in supervising and creating play opportunities for our happy, friendly children. We welcome applications from organised, enthusiastic and adaptable team-players who enjoy working with children. Previous experience of working with children would be an advantage but is not necessary.
