Job summary

Halton Borough Council is seeking two Midday Assistants to join our team. The roles are term-time only, 38 weeks plus 3 days, with approx. 4 hours 10 minutes per shift, covering two lunch sessions as required. A DBS check and references will be part of the shortlisting process.

Flexibility to cover slightly longer hours and to work with pupils in a calm, caring manner is essential. Interviews are scheduled for 18/09/2026.

Midday Assistant x 2 Posts

We are seeking to recruit 2 enthusiastic and flexible Midday Assistant is required to join our team.

Our Midday Assistants work with our pupils to ensure they have an enjoyable and safe lunchbreak with their classmates. A desire to work with children and the ability to show our school values including respect and kindness are important to this role. A calm and caring manner and the ability to interact well with children and staff are essential. The ideal candidate will be flexible and available to work slightly longer hours when asked. Our children's lunches are split over 2 lunchtimes and middays may be asked to cover either session.

Safeguarding our children is our number 1 priority and all school roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check. References will be taken up before any offer is made, these should ideally be from a similar or relevant role.
