Leonardo in the United Kingdom is offering an Industrial Placement in Microwave Engineering based in Luton. You will join our team for a year, working on RF and microwave technologies used in advanced Electronic Warfare solutions and gain hands-on experience with real engineering projects.

You will be mentored by experienced engineers, develop technical and professional skills, and deliver a cohort project while collaborating across RF, antenna, systems, software and hardware disciplines.

Qualifications

• You should be studying towards a degree in: Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Applied physics, Engineering Physics, Mathematics or Applied Mathematics, Communications Engineering, Space Engineering, Robotics Engineering.

Responsibilities

• As part of our Microwave Engineering team, you'll support the development of RF and microwave technologies used within advanced Electronic Warfare solutions.
• Your activities will include: Supporting the design and development of RF and microwave circuits, subsystems and components; Using industry-standard simulation and modelling tools to analyse microwave performance; Supporting the development of technologies operating at frequencies up to 40GHz and beyond; Conducting laboratory testing, measurement and validation using specialist RF and microwave equipment; Analysing technical performance data and presenting findings to engineering teams; Collaborating with RF, antenna, systems, software and hardware engineers; Contributing to technical documentation and design reviews.
