About The School

The school is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and highly motivated Modern Foreign Language (MFL) Teacher to join a dedicated team in the Debden area. Their language department is a central, vibrant part of our curriculum, and we pride ourselves on achieving excellent student outcomes.

We are looking for an exceptional teacher to inspire students across all key stages in one or more modern foreign languages (e.g., French, Spanish). This role is suitable for both experienced educators and highly promising Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective MFL lessons across all Key Stages (KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5), ensuring all students make excellent progress.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs and high achievers.
  • Contribute to the development of the MFL curriculum and departmental resources, keeping up-to-date with pedagogical best practices.
  • Maintain a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages students to be confident, risk‑taking communicators.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities such as language clubs, trips, or cultural events to enrich the students' learning experience.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.
What We're Looking For

We are searching for a creative and dedicated individual who can make a significant impact on our students' linguistic journeys.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a relevant language subject.
  • Excellent subject knowledge in one or more modern foreign languages (e.g., French, Spanish) with proven ability to teach up to KS4 (GCSE) minimum, with A‑Level (KS5) experience being desirable.
  • A proven track record of raising attainment and fostering a genuine love for languages and different cultures.
  • Exceptional classroom management skills and the ability to build strong, positive relationships with students.
  • A commitment to your own continuing professional development (CPD) and collaborative teamwork.
  • The ability to use technology effectively to enhance language acquisition and teaching.
