Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Metrology Supervisor to join the Facilities team in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The role leads a team of metrology technicians to ensure calibration, qualification, and GMP-aligned processes are followed, with emphasis on audits and continuous improvement.

You will manage calibration procedures, documentation, and supplier relationships while supporting budget planning and capital requests. A strong background in regulated labs and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership of metrology or calibration teams.
• Strong knowledge of GMP/GLP/GCP and documentation practices.
• Experience with calibration, IQ/OQ/PQ and maintenance processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Metrology Technicians to achieve operational and compliance objectives.
• Serve as a SME for calibration, equipment qualification, validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
• Drive continuous improvement and compliance initiatives across local and regional sites.
• Develop and maintain calibration procedures, SOPs, policies, forms, and other controlled documentation.
• Support regulatory, client, and internal audits by providing technical expertise and documentation.
• Manage quality events, investigations, root cause analyses, CAPAs, and change controls within electronic Quality Management Systems.
• Lead harmonization projects and process improvement initiatives across the organization.
• Partner with laboratory and operational teams on equipment selection, validation, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with vendors and sourcing teams to establish and manage service agreements and supplier qualifications.
• Contribute to budget planning and capital expenditure requests.

Labcorp is seeking a Metrology Supervisor to join our Facilities team in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

Work Schedule: 37h/week, Monday - Thursday 8.45am - 5pm, Friday 8.45am - 4.30pm.

Job Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for calibration, equipment qualification, validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
• Drive continuous improvement and compliance initiatives across local and regional sites.
• Develop and maintain calibration procedures, SOPs, policies, forms, and other controlled documentation.
• Support regulatory, client, and internal audits by providing technical expertise and documentation.
• Manage quality events, investigations, root cause analyses, CAPAs, and change controls within electronic Quality Management Systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Educated to A-Level or Equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or other continuing education

Additional Job Standards

• ASQ, PMEL, Lean Six Sigma, or similar professional certification.
• Previous people leadership experience.
• Extensive metrology experience in regulated laboratory, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environments.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, GLP, GCP, and Good Documentation Practices.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
