Job summary

Perfect Placement is seeking an MET Technician (Twilight) for a busy accident repair centre in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. The shift runs 12:00pm–9:00pm, and you will work on insurance, prestige, fleet, LCV, hybrid and electric vehicle repairs.

The role offers a basic salary of £45,800 with uncapped overtime and bonus potential, plus ongoing training and clear career progression in a modern high-volume workshop.

Qualifications

• Previous MET Technician experience is essential.
• NVQ/IMI/ATA or equivalent is preferred.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Remove, refit mechanical, electrical, trim and body components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults accurately.
• Complete repairs per manufacturer and insurer standards.
• Work efficiently to meet repair targets and deadlines.
• Perform quality checks prior to vehicle completion.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop.
• Collaborate with Panel and Paint Technicians to ensure smooth workflow.

Duties of an MET Technician:

• Conduct mechanical, electrical, trim, and body component removal and refitting
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults accurately
• Complete repairs in accordance with manufacturer and insurer standards
• Work efficiently to meet repair targets and deadlines
• Perform comprehensive quality checks prior to vehicle completion
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
• Collaborate closely with Panel and Paint Technicians to ensure smooth workflow

Requirements of anMET Technician:

• Previous experience as an MET Technician is essential
• Qualified to NVQ, IMI, ATA, or equivalent is preferred
• Strong mechanical and electrical repair knowledge
• Ability to perform efficiently within a busy bodyshop environment
• High attention to detail and dedication to quality workmanship
• Full UK Driving Licence required
