Job summary

Tru Talent is seeking an experienced MET Technician to join a leading bodyshop in Cambridgeshire. You will repair vehicles in line with manufacturer specifications, using the latest equipment and techniques, ensuring quality and efficiency.

The role requires an apprenticeship as MET Technician/Strip Fitter, NVQ/ATA/IMI/SVQ qualification, and experience in a busy shop with geometry work and 4-wheel alignment. You will work Mon-Fri, 40 hours, with achievable bonuses and generous holiday.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship as MET Technician/Strip Fitter
• Technical qualification (NVQ / ATA / IMI / SVQ)
• Experience in a busy bodyshop environment
• Experience with Geometry work and 4-wheel alignment
• Up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques
• Diagnostic training
• Self-motivated and a strong team player

Responsibilities

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced accident repair centre
• Follow repair techniques to factory specs and customer satisfaction
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Repair or replace damaged components
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as needed
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle issues
• Perform quality checks to meet industry standards

Our client is looking for a talented and efficient MET Technician/ MET Strip Fitter / Car Fitter / Strip & Fit Technician to join a leading team. You will be repairing damaged vehicles in line with manufacturer specifications in a state-of-the‑art body shop, using the latest equipment and techniques.

Key Responsibilities of an MET Technician/ MET Strip Fitter / Car Fitter / Strip & Fit Technician:

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced accident repair centre
• Follow the correct repair techniques and produce work in line with factory specifications and customer satisfaction
• Conduct detailed inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Repair or replace damaged mechanical, electrical, and trim components
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as needed
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and fix issues in the vehicle's systems
• Perform quality checks to ensure repairs meet industry standards
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed
• Adhere to all safety protocols and standards
