Job summary

Tru Talent in Wakefield is seeking a capable MET Technician/ Strip Fitter to join a leading body shop. You will repair damaged vehicles in line with manufacturer specs, using the latest equipment and techniques in a state-of-the-art facility.

The role offers Mon-Fri, 40 hours per week, with the opportunity for bonuses and progression. Applicants should have an apprenticeship and experience in a busy bodyshop, plus geometry/4-wheel alignment skills.

Qualifications

• Must have an apprenticeship as MET Technician or equivalent.
• NVQ/ATA/IMI/SVQ or equivalent qualification in vehicle repair.
• Experience in a busy bodyshop environment and knowledge of geometry work.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced accident repair centre following repair techniques to factory specs.
• Inspect to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Repair or replace damaged components and systems.
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as needed.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify issues and ensure quality checks.

MET Technician

Our client is looking for a talented and efficient MET Technician/ MET Strip Fitter / Car Fitter / Strip & Fit Technician to join a leading team. You will be repairing damaged vehicles in line with manufacturer specifications in a state-of-the-art body shop, using the latest equipment and techniques.

Key Responsibilities of an MET Technician/ MET Strip Fitter / Car Fitter / Strip & Fit Technician:

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced accident repair centre
• Follow the correct repair techniques and produce work in line with factory specifications and customer satisfaction
• Conduct detailed inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Repair or replace damaged mechanical, electrical, and trim components
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as needed
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and fix issues in the vehicle's systems
• Perform quality checks to ensure repairs meet industry standards
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed
• Adhere to all safety protocols and standards

Essential Skills and Qualifications for an MET Technician/ MET Strip Fitter / Car Fitter / Strip & Fit Technician:

• Recognised apprenticeship as a MET Technician/ MET Strip Fitter / Car Fitter / Strip & Fit Technician
• Technical qualification (NVQ / ATA / IMI / SVQ)
• Previous experience in a busy bodyshop environment
• Experience with Geometry work and 4-wheel alignment
• Up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques
• Diagnostic training
• Self-motivated and a strong team player
