Job summary

HP4 Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced MET / Panel Technician for a busy bodyshop in Redruth. The role combines MET and panel work to restore accident-damaged vehicles to pre-accident condition, with emphasis on quality and safety.

You will work Monday to Friday in a permanent full-time position, with ongoing training and modern facilities. The role offers an hourly rate of £20-£24 depending on experience and long-term career progression.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as MET/Panel Technician and bodyshop skills.
• Experience with accident-damaged vehicles and panel repairs.
• Full UK Driving Licence required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MET and panel repairs on accident-damaged vehicles.
• Remove and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components.
• Repair, replace and align damaged body panels.
• Carry out stripping and refitting work as required.
• Assess vehicle damage and determine repair methods.
• Carry out welding and structural repairs where required.
• Work closely with other bodyshop technicians throughout the repair process.
• Ensure repairs are completed safely and to a high standard.
• Complete repairs in line with manufacturer and industry standards.
• Accurately complete job cards and repair documentation.

About the Role

Our client is a well-established automotive business with a busy bodyshop in Redruth, and they are currently looking for an experienced MET / Panel Technician to join their growing team.

This role will involve a combination of mechanical, electrical and trim (MET) work alongside vehicle body and panel repairs, helping to return accident-damaged vehicles to their pre-accident condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out MET and panel repairs on a range of accident-damaged vehicles
• Remove and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components
• Repair, replace and align damaged body panels
• Carry out stripping and refitting work as required
• Assess vehicle damage and determine appropriate repair methods
• Carry out welding and structural repairs where required
• Work closely with other bodyshop technicians throughout the repair process

Requirements

• Proven experience as an MET Technician, Panel Technician, Panel Beater or Bodyshop Technician
• Experience across both MET and panel repair work
• Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair techniques
• Experience working with accident-damaged vehicles
• Good understanding of vehicle structures and repair methods
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Relevant automotive/bodyshop qualifications are preferred
• Full UK Driving Licence
