HP4 Recruitment Ltd in Gloucester is seeking a skilled MET / Paint Technician to join a busy bodyshop. The role combines MET and paint preparation to return accident-damaged vehicles to pre-accident condition.

You will perform mechanical, electrical and trim work, prepare panels for painting, assist with refinishing, and ensure high-quality repairs. A full UK driving licence is required; ongoing training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an MET Technician, Paint Technician, Vehicle Technician or Bodyshop Technician.
• Experience across MET and vehicle paint/preparation work.
• Strong understanding of vehicle repair processes.
• Experience within a busy bodyshop or accident repair environment.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MET work, including removal and refitting of mechanical, electrical and trim components.
• Prepare vehicles and panels for painting.
• Carry out paint preparation, including sanding, masking and priming.
• Assist with paint and refinishing work where required.
• Assess vehicle damage and identify the work required.
• Work closely with Panel Technicians and other bodyshop staff.
• Ensure all repairs and preparation work are completed to a high standard.
• Follow manufacturer and industry repair standards.
• Accurately complete job cards and repair documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Our client is a well-established automotive business with a busy bodyshop in Gloucester, and they are currently looking for an experienced MET / Paint Technician to join their growing team. This role will involve a combination of mechanical, electrical and trim (MET) work alongside vehicle preparation and paint-related duties, helping to return accident-damaged vehicles to their pre-accident condition.
