Job summary

HP4 Recruitment Ltd is looking for an experienced MET / Panel Technician for a busy bodyshop in Luton. The role involves mechanical, electrical and trim work alongside body repairs to return accident-damaged vehicles to pre-accident condition.

The successful candidate will have MET and panel experience, strong repair knowledge, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Competitive hourly rates and long-term stability are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as MET Technician and Panel Technician or equivalent in a bodyshop.
• Experience with both MET and panel repair work and knowledge of body repair techniques.
• Full UK Driving Licence and ability to work in a busy automotive environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MET and panel repairs on accident-damaged vehicles.
• Remove and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components.
• Repair, replace and align damaged body panels.
• Carry out stripping and refitting work as required.
• Assess vehicle damage and determine repair methods; weld and perform structural repairs when needed.
• Collaborate with other bodyshop technicians to complete repairs safely and to high standards.
• Complete repairs in line with manufacturer standards and document all work.

About the Role

Our client is a well-established automotive business with a busy bodyshop in Luton, and they are currently looking for an experienced MET / Panel Technician to join their growing team.

This role will involve a combination of mechanical, electrical and trim (MET) work alongside vehicle body and panel repairs, helping to return accident-damaged vehicles to their pre-accident condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out MET and panel repairs on a range of accident-damaged vehicles
• Remove and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components
• Repair, replace and align damaged body panels
• Carry out stripping and refitting work as required
• Assess vehicle damage and determine appropriate repair methodsCarry out welding and structural repairs where required
• Work closely with other bodyshop technicians throughout the repair process
• Ensure all repairs are completed safely and to a high standard
• Complete repairs in line with manufacturer and industry standards
• Accurately complete job cards and repair documentation

Requirements

• Proven experience as an MET Technician, Panel Technician, Panel Beater or Bodyshop Technician
• Experience across both MET and panel repair work
• Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair techniques
• Experience working with accident-damaged vehicles
• Good understanding of vehicle structures and repair methods
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Relevant automotive/bodyshop qualifications are preferred
• Full UK Driving Licence
