Skype for Business, Mattermost/Symphony

Location: Chester

Duration: 12 Months

One of our large financial clients is currently looking for an IT Messaging Support Engineer with experience in real-time messaging, Skype for Business, Mattermost/Symphony, and related technologies.

The Collaboration Operations Support Analyst is responsible for supporting the Unified Communications collaboration environment. This role acts as an application analyst and will handle the day-to-day operations, critical client escalations, and all production changes and infrastructure deployments.

  • Hands-on experience managing Skype for Business, Mattermost/Symphony Group Chat & MS Teams (IM, online meetings with content sharing, persistent chat rooms, mobile IM, B2B federation, P2P audio/video, audio conferencing, softphone/enterprise voice).
  • Experience managing a Windows Server 2008 R2/2012 environment.
  • Familiarity with writing PowerShell scripts.
  • Understanding of reading SIP traces, UCCAPI log files, Wireshark network captures.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Splunk, SCOM, SiteScope).
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory, servers, databases (SQL), networking, and voice technologies.
  • Knowledge of Linux servers, networking, and storage technologies.
  • Experience with virtual platforms (both client and server) and Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with incident, change, and problem management disciplines; familiarity with Remedy ITSM.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Telephony and network experience.
  • ITIL certification and in-depth understanding of ITIL principles, functions, and processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the IT infrastructure and resources to develop, deliver, and support IT services within SLAs.
  • Manage change processes and ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and professional standards.
  • Support infrastructure applications and data repositories daily.
  • Monitor, measure, report, and review application performance to ensure availability and capacity meet business demands.
  • Apply security procedures to maintain compliance across infrastructure applications.
