TeacherActive is recruiting a Cover Supervisor for a welcoming secondary school in Merthyr Tydfil. The role is temporary until February half term with potential to extend. You will supervise KS3/KS4 classes when teaching staff are absent, delivering pre-prepared materials and maintaining engagement and discipline.

The position suits someone with strong classroom management and a genuine passion for supporting young people’s education, with opportunities to extend beyond February half term.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of teachers.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across various subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Ensure pupils stay engaged and complete the work set.
• Follow school safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff and provide feedback to teachers.

Cover Supervisor to join their team on a temporary basis.

The role is available for an

immediate start and will initially run until February half term, with the potential for an extension.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of the regular class teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged, focused and on task.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Cover Supervisor or someone with relevant classroom experience looking to further develop their skills within a supportive secondary school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervising classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of teaching staff
• Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
• Ensuring pupils remain engaged and complete the work set
• Following school behaviour policies and safeguarding procedures
• Building positive professional relationships with pupils and staff
• Providing feedback to teaching staff on pupil engagement and behaviour

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Confidence supervising classes independently across different subjects
