Job summary

HR GO Recruitment in Crewe is seeking a commercially minded Merchandiser on a fixed-term contract to 30 April 2027. The role focuses on driving sales, profitability, and stock investment through strong data analysis and forecasting.

You will develop plans across product categories, work with Marketing and Trading on promotions, and oversee demand planning, replenishment and stock availability to protect customer demand.

Qualifications

  • Previous merchandising, merchandise planning or similar commercial planning role.
  • Experience in retail or eCommerce preferred.
  • Strong commercial awareness with understanding of margin and profitability.
  • Experience in demand forecasting and stock management.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyse large datasets.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage forecasts for sales, margins and stock across product categories.
  • Analyse trading performance to identify opportunities to increase revenue.
  • Create merchandise plans aligned with budgets and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Trading on pricing, promotions and stock.
  • Oversee demand planning, replenishment and stock availability.
  • Monitor stock levels, turnover and aged inventory to minimise excess stock.
  • Guide an Inventory Planner and set stock replenishment priorities.
  • Work with Product teams on range development and lifecycle performance.
  • Produce reports on sales, margins, stock and forecast accuracy.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to improve inventory investment.

Merchandiser

Contract: Fixed term until 30 April 2027

HR GO Recruitment is recruiting for a commercially minded Merchandiser to join a growing eCommerce business on a fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical individual to help drive sales, improve profitability and optimise stock investment.

The Role
  • Develop and manage sales, margin and stock forecasts across product categories.
  • Analyse trading performance to identify opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.
  • Create merchandise plans aligned with business objectives and budgets.
  • Work with Marketing and Trading teams on pricing, promotions and stock requirements.
  • Oversee demand planning, replenishment and stock availability, ensuring inventory meets customer demand.
  • Monitor stock levels, turnover and aged inventory to minimise excess stock and protect availability.
  • Manage and support an Inventory Planner, setting priorities for stock requirements and replenishment.
  • Collaborate with Product teams on range development, new product launches and lifecycle performance.
  • Produce regular reports on sales, margins, stock performance and forecast accuracy.
  • Work with Finance and Operations to improve inventory investment, working capital and stock distribution.
The Candidate
  • Previous experience in merchandising, merchandise planning or a similar commercial planning role.
  • Ideally experienced within a retail or eCommerce environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with a good understanding of sales, gross margin and profitability.
  • Experience in demand forecasting, stock management and inventory optimisation.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence analysing large datasets.
  • Ability to interpret data and turn insights into practical commercial decisions.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across Product, Marketing, Finance and Operations.
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members would be advantageous.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.
