Job summary

Adecco Group UK & Ireland is seeking a Temporary Merchandiser to support peak trading across Stores, eCommerce, and Outlet channels from Liverpool Street. Hybrid role: 4 days in office, 1 day home once settled.

The role focuses on planning and trading stock to maximise sales, availability and margin during a busy period, with potential extension beyond December 2026.

Qualifications

• Previous Merchandiser experience in omni-channel fashion.
• Strong experience trading through peak periods and markdown activity.
• Experience planning store openings, closures and stock redistribution.
• Advanced Excel with strong commercial and analytical ability.

Responsibilities

• Own weekly trading across DTC channels through peak events, promotions and the end-of-season sale.
• Plan opening stock, option counts and size curves for new, temporary and pop-up stores.
• Plan stock exits and redistribution for store closures, transferring stock to Outlets and other stores against budget.
• Support planning for future store openings as required.
• Act as bridge between Merchandising, Retail, eCommerce and warehouse, visiting stores and conveying feedback.

Temporary Merchandiser opportunity - immediate start!

Role: Merchandiser

Location: Liverpool Street (Hybrid - 4 days office, 1 day home once settled)

Contract: Temporary

Start: ASAP

End: December 2026 (potential extension)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

Pay: £24-£27 per hour

We're looking for an experienced Merchandiser to provide immediate support during a busy trading period, including peak season activity and multiple store openings, closures and pop-ups. The role will focus on planning and trading stock across Stores, eCommerce and Outlet channels to maximise sales, availability and margin performance.

Key Responsibilities

Peak Planning & Trading

• Own weekly trading across the DTC channels through key peak events, promotions and the end-of-season Sale.
• Plan promotional stock builds against the promotional calendar; track sell-through and recommend markdown depth, reorders and stock moves.
• Reforecast sales and stock weekly, reviewing OTB and on-order and flagging risks and opportunities to the Head of Merchandising.
• Maximise availability by size across channels, keeping stock within planned levels and agreed markdown targets.

New Stores, Pop-Ups & Closures

• Plan opening stock, option counts and size curves for new, temporary and pop-up stores across Full Price and Outlet.
• Work with Collection Merchandising, Visual Merchandising and Retail on store capacities, floor sets and launch ranges; monitor early trade and replenish quickly.
• Plan stock exits and redistribution for store closures, transferring stock to Outlets and other stores against budget.
• Support planning for future store openings as required.

Allocation & Stock Management

• Review and, where needed, run initial and replenishment allocations, inter-store and warehouse transfers, and min/max continuity levels; provide the warehouse with movement forecasts.
• Pick up allocation and merchandising admin during team handovers, making sure store stock flow is uninterrupted through peak.
• Maintain Line Cards and WSSI.

People & Communication

• Act as the bridge between Merchandising, Retail, eCommerce, Outlets and the warehouse, visiting stores and acting quickly on feedback.
• Support and guide the Junior Merchandiser day to day.
• Leave clear documentation and a full handover at the end of the assignment.

Experience, skills and attributes required

• Previous Merchandiser experience within an omni-channel fashion/apparel business.
• Strong experience trading through peak periods, promotions and markdown activity.
• Experience supporting the planning for store openings, closures and stock redistribution.
• Hands on allocation and stock management experience.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong commercial and analytical ability.
• Highly organised with excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Experience within a premium clothing brand is advantageous.
• Must be a team player who is happy to support a very busy team - You may be required to undertake additional duties aligned with your skills and experience
