Job summary

Currie & Brown is seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to join its Cost & Commercial Management team in London. The role entails managing commercial delivery of complex MEP packages across large-scale programmes, with emphasis on cost control, procurement, contract administration and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience on data centres, mission critical facilities and large industrial projects, delivering cost plans, budgets

Qualifications

• Experience as MEP QS, Project QS or Commercial Manager
• Strong cost management, procurement and contract administration expertise
• Ability to provide strategic cost advice to clients and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management and administration of complex MEP packages
• Develop procurement strategies and manage tendering, evaluation and contract award processes
• Prepare and manage cost plans, estimates, budgets, forecasts and cash flow reporting
• Administer contracts and manage valuations, variations, change control and final accounts
• Identify, assess and mitigate commercial risks while maximising value opportunities
• Produce accurate commercial reporting and provide strategic cost advice to clients and stakeholders
• Support project teams in achieving successful commercial and financial outcomes
• Demonstrate experience with NEC, JCT or equivalent contracts

Job description

We are seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our growing Cost & Commercial Management team.

The successful candidate will possess solid experience managing the commercial and contractual delivery of complex MEP packages across large-scale construction programmes. This role requires a strong understanding of cost management, procurement, contract administration, commercial risk management, change control and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

Candidates should demonstrate expertise in delivering technically complex projects within sectors such as commercial developments, infrastructure, healthcare, data centres, mission critical facilities, advanced manufacturing, or other major capital and public sector programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management and administration of complex MEP packages.
• Develop procurement strategies and manage tendering, evaluation and contract award processes.
• Prepare and manage cost plans, estimates, budgets, forecasts and cash flow reporting.
• Administer contracts and manage valuations, variations, change control and final accounts.

• Proven experience as an MEP Quantity Surveyor, Project Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.
• Strong experience delivering mechanical, electrical and public health packages on complex construction projects.
• Excellent knowledge of cost management, procurement, contract administration and commercial reporting.
• Experience administering NEC, JCT or equivalent forms of contract.
