Role description
The role welcomes applicants with a strong building services engineering background, whether through an MEP contracting, consulting, or facilities management career. Candidates should have a good working knowledge of commercial mechanical, electrical, and public health installations, along with an understanding of MEP regulations and standards.
Operating within our specialist Technical Due Diligence (TDD) team within the Lenders, Investors & Insurers sector, the MEP Engineering Surveyor will support the team on building services surveying and technical assessments across residential, commercial, and light industrial property portfolios.
The primary role involves assessing service installations (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Electrical, Vertical transportation, Drainage, etc.), understanding their design and configuration, and providing insights into their condition, performance, and operational risks. This includes non-intrusive inspections, reviewing maintenance and statutory compliance, identifying defects, and assessing future lifecycle replacement needs considering obsolescence. Reports will also evaluate commercial factors affecting investments, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
The Surveyor will actively survey and inspect property services, prepare defect and technical reports, and engage directly with clients. For larger portfolios, support in management and coordination with suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery is essential.
This role offers an opportunity to deepen MEP knowledge, understand lease structures, ownership, and investment strategies in transactional environments. The successful candidate will contribute to our Asset Assurance and Management services, providing technical advisory, surveying, and project monitoring for clients.
Our work impacts lives and the planet, making cities safer, more resilient, and sustainable. We partner with clients to responsibly manage resources and contribute to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and achieving net-zero carbon emissions.
We foster an inclusive environment where everyone can bring their best selves. Our diversity drives innovation, and we actively work on ED&I across six workstreams: Age, Disability, Faith, Gender, LGBT+, and Race. We aim to be an employer of choice and a great place to work for all.
