Job summary

Randstad CPE London is recruiting an experienced HVAC Design Manager (MEP) to take ownership of design packages from concept through to delivery on a major infrastructure programme. The role combines hands-on design leadership with coordination across multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Hybrid working is available (3 days on site, 2 days at home). The position offers a competitive day rate of £550–£650 Inside IR35 and an initial contract term through March 2027 with a strong

Responsibilities

We are currently recruiting for an MEP Design Manager (HVAC) to join a major infrastructure programme delivering complex shaft and head-house fit-out works. This is a long-term opportunity for a proactive individual who can take ownership of MEP design responsibilities and drive packages through to successful completion.

This role is ideal for someone with strong HVAC design management/co-ordination experience who enjoys coordinating multiple stakeholders, overcoming technical challenges, and ensuring design compliance on large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage HVAC-focused MEP design packages from concept through to completion.
• Work closely with the MEP Package Manager to drive programme delivery.
• Lead design reviews, approvals, certification processes, and final sign-off.
• Manage HVAC deliverables and resolve technical issues
• Ensure compliance with project requirements, standards, and design obligations.
• Coordinate and manage HVAC supply chain partners across the project.
• Drive design packages through approval gateways and into delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an HVAC/MEP Design Manager, Design Coordinator, or similar role.
• Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems and MEP design delivery.
• Experience delivering MEP packages on major infrastructure, rail, construction, or civil engineering projects.
• Ability to manage design approvals, technical submissions, and certification processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proactive approach with the ability to take ownership and deliver results.
• CSCS White or Black Card preferred.
• Candidates without a current card must be willing and able to obtain one
