Job summary

Practice Plus Group is looking for a Mental Health Support Worker. You will assist the mental health team in delivering care for patients referred to the mental health team, and contribute to an integrated, respectful environment.

You will provide evidence-based interventions, share knowledge of talking therapies, and support training in mental health awareness. The role offers development opportunities and a salary up to £29,723 per year.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a mental health support worker - desired
  • Able to build constructive relationships with warmth and empathy
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to undertake training in mental health awareness and ACCT procedures

Job description

As a Mental Health Support Worker your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Assist the mental health team in the delivery of immediate and, where appropriate, ongoing care for patients referred to the mental health team.
  • Contribute to the positive and aspirational workings of the integrated mental health care team, ensuring that each and every patient is treated with care, respect and dignity.
  • Provide evidence based interventions within the Practice Plus Group health care wellbeing model
  • Share a good working knowledge of talking therapies and comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act, maintaining a safe working environment for both staff and patients.
  • Have opportunities to dual run group sessions with the nurses to gain valuable experience.

  • Willingness to undertake training in mental health awareness, suicide, self harm and ACCT procedures as well as health promotion and screening.
