Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join the Mental Health team at HMP Wealstun, a category C prison near Wetherby, Yorkshire. The role involves assessing and managing patients’ mental health within a busy team of eight, with induction and training provided.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 8-6, 4 days per week, with one weekend every 6 weeks and some bank holidays. Salary up to £49,175 per annum, with extensive development opportunities and a thorough induction program.

Qualifications

• Qualification listed: HCPC/NMC Registered (Occupational Therapist or Social Worker)
• Experience of working within mental health settings
• Evidence of Continued Professional Development
• Experience of working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary environment

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of patients’ mental health needs.
• Work autonomously with a caseload within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Contribute to nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding evidence-based care.
• Deliver non-judgemental care and build therapeutic relationships.
• Participate in planning, implementation and evaluation of care following policies and safeguarding.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Wealstun, a category C Prison located in near Wetherby, Yorkshire. HMP Wealstun is a male prison that focuses on training and education.

Working in a busy team of 8, good induction and training offered.

Hours

• hours a week working Monday to Friday, 8-6pm 4 days a week, 1 weekend every 6 weeks plus some bank holidays.

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £49,175per annum, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients’ mental health needs.
• Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
• Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to; Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
• Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.

Qualifications
