Job summary

New Start is seeking a Mental Health Support Practitioner to join the Adults Services Team in Liverpool. You will support vulnerable adults with mental health needs, delivering practical and emotional assistance and outreach to homes to promote independence and wellbeing.

The role includes shift work on a 3-day rolling rota with a competitive salary and contributory pension. Enhanced DBS will be required.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting clients with mental health issues.
  • Excellent communication skills with a calm, patient and confident manner.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals through crisis or periods of change.
  • Experience assessing the needs of vulnerable adults, particularly those at risk of homelessness.
  • Experience collaborating with voluntary and statutory agencies.
  • Experience of casework, support planning, risk assessments and key working.
  • Full driving licence, access to your own vehicle and business insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide practical and emotional support to individuals with mental health needs.
  • Support residents in our services and in their own homes via outreach.
  • Help individuals maintain independence, develop life skills and manage tenancy.
  • Implement activities promoting personal development across education, social inclusion and wellbeing.
  • Assist with safe management of buildings and reporting requirements.
