Job summary

CCRES Educational and Behavioral Health Services seeks a Mental Health Specialist (MHS) for the ATTEND program in Reading. This independent contractor role provides early-morning in-home services to help a student transition from home to school, Monday through Friday.

You will deliver one hour of direct support before school, with potential extension over weeks or months, and may require transportation between the client’s home and school. A Master’s degree in a mental health field is required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in mental health or related field from an accredited university.
  • 6 months of clinical therapy experience (preferred).
  • Training in positive behavior supports, team coordination, agency collaboration, and applied/cognitive behavioral counseling.

Responsibilities

Make a difference every day by joining CCRES as a Mental Health Specialist / MHS in the morning ATTEND program with our partnership with the Chester County Intermediate Unit!

SUMMARY:
  • The Mental Health Specialist (MHS) is an independent contract position working early morning hours during the school week
RATE:
  • $75.00/hr (independent contractor position)

Current Needs: (please note some needs may have candidates in process)

  • Birdsboro 7:05am-8:05am
  • Douglasville 7:40am-8:40am
  • Reading 8:30am-9:30am
  • Reading from parent 1 location: 7:25-8:25am; from parent 2 location: 6:25am-7:25am
  • Temple 8:00am-9:00am
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monday - Friday, 1 hour/day during the school week to provide services in the home setting before school hours to help an individual transition from home to school day
  • Services will be provided for an extended period of weeks or months
  • Work with school aged students with emotional or behavioral needs
  • Transportation from the client's home to school may be required
  • No services are provided if there is no school
  • Transfer coping skills and interventions to parent/caregiver
EDUCATION / EXEPRIENCE:
  • Master’s degree from an accredited university in a mental health / human service study such as Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Social Work, Education, etc.
  • Additional 6 months work experience providing clinical therapy in an individual, family, or group format - preferred.
  • Documented training and experience in positive behavior supports, team coordination, agency collaboration, applied and cognitive behavioral counseling
CREDENTIALS:

Clearances current within 12 months

  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI -- Use code 1KG6XN
  • TB Screening (current within 3 months)
  • Education Documentation - diploma OR official transcripts from graduate program
  • Professional Liability Insurance

The Mental Health Specialist / MHS is an independent contract (1099) position. No benefits are associated with this role.
