Job summary

EPUT is seeking a dedicated individual to support the delivery of recreational activities under the guidance of a registered Occupational Therapist. Activities will be delivered one to one and in groups, including creative, social and physical tasks within the ward environment.

You will work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends, and help develop intervention pathways for patients with chronic mental health needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in mental health settings and strong problem solving, communication and organisational skills.
• Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary ward team to develop activity plans.
• Good liaison with Occupational Therapy and Nursing staff to support patients.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Occupational Therapy to plan recreational activities.
• Lead activities for groups and individuals, on the ward.
• Prepare craft materials and equipment before sessions.
• Maintain stocks of supplies and report shortages to ward staff.
• Record interventions and protect patient confidentiality.

Skills

Experience working with mental health

Education

NVQ level 3 or relevant experience
