Job summary

Village Hotels - Glasgow is seeking a Meetings and Events Assistant Manager to drive event delivery on the floor, lead a team, and optimise AV setup for high-profile weddings, banquets and conferences.

With hands-on responsibility for room setup, AV operations, and staff coaching, you will work to maximise bar revenue and guest satisfaction, while maintaining brand standards and a calm, proactive leadership style.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or management experience in events is essential.
• Attitude, emotional intelligence and calm under pressure are highly valued.
• Natural leader who can develop and coach a team.
• Hands-on ability to set up rooms to brand standards and operate AV.

Responsibilities

• The Floor Delivery: ensure spaces are set up and serviced to brand standards and demonstrate AV tech.
• The Team Leadership: deputise for the M&E Operations Manager, conduct 1:1s, run training, coach on the floor.
• The Commercial Hustle: upsell in Food & Beverage, monitor budget, control payroll costs for profitability.
• The Guest Experience: liaise with sales and event organisers, provide rapid solutions and a vibrant welcome.
