Job summary

Village Hotels - Leeds North is seeking a Meetings and Events Assistant Manager to drive seamless events from weddings to conferences. You will manage shifts, oversee setup, coach the events team, and lead on AV operations to deliver top-notch experiences while protecting profitability.

You will combine hands-on operations with commercial focus, upselling food and beverage, supervising staff, and liaising with sales and organisers to ensure every delegate leaves energised and impressed.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or management experience in events is essential.
• Ability to lead a team on busy events and maintain calm under pressure.
• Strong customer service and sales focus to maximise revenue.

Responsibilities

• The Floor Delivery: ensure spaces are set up and serviced to brand standards and demonstrate AV tech on the floor.
• The Team Leadership: deputise for the M&E Operations Manager, run training, coach the team, keep energy high.
• The Commercial Hustle: upsell F&B opportunities, monitor budget, control payroll costs for profitability.
• The Guest Experience: liaise with sales and event organisers, provide rapid solutions, ensure a vibrant welcome.
