Job summary

Village Hotels - Leeds North is seeking an energetic Meetings and Events Assistant Manager to drive flawless events from weddings to large conferences. You will lead shifts, manage space setups, and take charge of AV operations while coaching your team to deliver an electric atmosphere that boosts bar revenue.

The right candidate has supervisory or management experience in events, thrives under pressure, and loves hands-on work.

Qualifications

Previous supervisory or management experience in events is essential.
Attitude, emotional intelligence and calm under pressure matter more than pure authority.
Natural leader who loves the hands-on setup and running of events.

Responsibilities

Oversee floor delivery: ensure spaces are set up and serviced to brand standards, demonstrate AV tech, and prepare the room before guests arrive.
Lead the team on the events floor, conduct 1:1s, run training sessions, and maintain high energy during long shifts.
Drive commercial performance: upsell F&B opportunities, monitor budget performance, and manage payroll costs to protect profitability.
Coordinate with the sales team and event organisers on the day to swiftly handle issues and ensure a vibrant guest experience.
