Job summary

Village Hotels - Glasgow is seeking a Meetings and Events Assistant Manager to be the operational powerhouse on the floor. You will manage shifts, oversee the setup of spaces, take charge of the AV equipment, and coach your team to deliver an electric atmosphere that maximises our bar revenue and leaves every guest blown away.

Previous supervisory or management experience in events is essential, but your attitude, emotional intelligence, and ability to stay totally calm under pressure matter

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory or management experience in events.
• Demonstrated ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Strong leadership and coaching capability.

Responsibilities

• The Floor Delivery: ensure spaces are set up and serviced to brand standards, demonstrate AV tech, and ensure the room looks immaculate before guests arrive.
• The Team Leadership: deputise for the M&E Operations Manager, run training sessions, coach the team on the floor.
• The Commercial Hustle: upsell through food and beverage, monitor budget, control payroll costs to keep the department profitable.
• The Guest Experience: liaise with sales and event organisers on the day, provide rapid problem-solving and a vibrant welcome for delegates.
