Job summary

Roundstone Surgery in Trowbridge is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist to join our Patient Services Team. This frontline role handles patient bookings, inquiries and wide-ranging administrative tasks in a busy town-centre practice.

You will work 21 hours weekly with shifts between 8.00am and 8.00pm, Monday to Friday, and receive NHS Pension and ongoing training. Prior healthcare experience is helpful but not essential as full training is provided.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is essential.
• High level of computer literacy; comfortable with new systems.
• Friendly, professional and patient-focused approach.
• Organised with the ability to multitask in a busy team.
• Flexible shifts between 8:00 and 20:00, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

PART-TIME MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST

Roundstone Surgery is recruiting a Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and supportive Patient Services Team at our busy town-centre surgery in Trowbridge.

About the Role

This is a key frontline position where no two days are the same. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be a first point of contact for our patients and play an important part in ensuring they receive an efficient, professional and compassionate service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming and booking in patients
• Handling a high volume of patient enquiries, both in person and by telephone
• Managing a wide range of administrative tasks
• Signposting patients to appropriate services, information and support
• Working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues
• The role involves extensive use of clinical systems, telephony and digital tools, so excellent IT skills and confidence using computers are essential, alongside the ability to multitask and maintain accuracy in a busy environment.
