Job summary

Beacon Primary Care is seeking two dedicated medical receptionists to join our busy team across four locations in West Lancashire. The role is 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with one week of early shifts and one week of late shifts on rotation.

You will be the first point of contact for patients, providing a professional, friendly, and efficient service, and supporting the clinical team with a range of reception duties in a fast-paced primary care environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in GP reception is preferred.
• Excellent communication with patients and staff is essential.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and maintain detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Open and secure the practice premises as required.
• Manage and monitor the appointments system.
• Process patient requests for appointments, home visits, and telephone consultations.
• Direct patients and callers to the appropriate clinician or service.
• Handle mail and messages; ensure timely communication with staff.
• Enter and update patient data in line with procedures; maintain accuracy.
