Hours: Full-Time / Part-Time (core working shift patterns 08:00 AM – 18:30 PM))
Salary: £12.71 per hour (National Minimum Wage

We are a busy, well-established General Practice located in Liverpool. Our practice is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centred care to our local community. We operate in a fast-paced environment with a supportive, friendly team.
We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our team on a permanent, 12-month fixed-term contract. Please note that this is a stable, contracted position and is not a temporary or locum post.

The Role:

As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing a vital link between patients and our clinical team. You will deliver a high-quality, professional, and compassionate reception and administrative service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greeting patients and visitors warmly, dealing with enquiries efficiently and politely.
  • Managing the front desk, answering incoming telephone calls, and booking appointments.
  • Utilising the EMIS Web system accurately to manage patient records, appointments, and administration.
  • Processing repeat prescription requests in line with practice protocols.
  • Handling sensitive patient information with the highest level of confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
  • Liaising with GPs, nurses, external healthcare professionals, and management to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • General administrative duties including scanning, filing, and processing incoming mail or emails.
Requirements & Experience:
  • Experience: Minimum of 12 months of experience working directly within a UK GP Practice (essential).
  • Software: Proven, hands‑on experience using EMIS Web (essential).
Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Attributes: Strong organisational skills, reliability, and a professional, empathetic approach to patient care.
