The role involves managing and administering the Trust's medical equipment inventory and specialist software. The post holder will also play a key role in implementing and supporting connected devices and technology across the Trust and community.

The role will be based at Leicester Royal Infirmary and involve working on other hospital sites.

Applicants must be qualified to Degree/HNC level or equivalent in Electronics or Computing. Demonstrable experience in the use of IT in an engineering or healthcare environment is required, with understanding of database administration, device networking, and integration. Technical update training is available.

The candidate should have a safety-conscious approach and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. The role requires the ability to cope under pressure, be adaptable, and multi-task.

Experience in maintenance and repair of medical equipment is desirable.

Clinical Engineering is primarily concerned with repair, calibration, and maintenance of diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment across Leicester University Hospitals, ensuring effective and safe operation with minimal downtime. Equipment includes electrical, electronic, mechanical, software, and medical gas systems.

The post holder will act as an IT specialist within the Department, maintaining the equipment inventory system, providing KPIs and financial data, and implementing and networking new connected devices within hospital and virtual ward environments, as well as managing specialist software within the Medical Physics Department.

Key attributes include the ability to prioritize workload, work flexibly, and maintain accuracy.

Our strategy for 2023-2030 is built around four primary goals: high-quality care, being a great place to work, impactful partnerships, and excellence in research and education. We are committed to embedding health equality in all we do, actively working to reduce healthcare disparities in partnership with communities.

Our core values are: compassionate, proud, inclusive, and one team. We are excited about the future, focusing on our strengths and areas for growth to better serve our community.
