Job summary

ALTEN is seeking an experienced Processing / Manufacturing Engineer with a strong mechatronics bias to support manufacturing operations in a highly technical production environment focused on electric motor assembly and testing. The role involves hands-on shop-floor support, resolving manufacturing issues, improving processes, and ensuring equipment operates effectively.

It requires rapid integration into operations and collaboration with production teams to deliver high-quality engineering

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience as a Processing Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in manufacturing process support and continuous improvement.
• Extensive experience in electronics and manufacturing fault-finding; able to work on day-to-day shop-floor operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide manufacturing engineering support to daily shop floor operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing and production issues across assembly and test processes.
• Support operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment.
• Investigate process failures and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Work with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure efficient processes.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, processes, and work instructions.
• Drive process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Support production readiness activities and introduction of process improvements.
• Assist with root cause investigations and fault-finding on equipment and electronic systems.
