ALTEN is a global engineering and technology consultancy delivering innovative solutions across aerospace, automotive, energy and IT sectors. We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Bedford site on-site. You will own mechanical design activities and lead initiatives from concept through manufacture and testing.

The role requires 10+ years of experience, strong SolidWorks skills, and a track record in end-to-end product development. Security clearance is a plus.

Qualifications

Extensive experience delivering mechanical design solutions.
Experience across the product development lifecycle.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design principles.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design activities for complex engineered products.
Produce detailed SolidWorks models, assemblies, and drawings.
Support design reviews and technical decision-making.
Conduct engineering analysis and design assessments.
Work closely with manufacturing and test teams.
Support prototype development and product improvement initiatives.
